1.1 What is the Kenya Xperience Center?
The Kenya xperience center aims to promote national and international involvement and volunteerism through sharing of skills and experiences by connecting local and other global citizens with welfare and development projects in order to assist communities in Kenya. We are based in an office in Kilifi town, Coast Province. The majority of the projects the center works with are located in the Kenyan North Coast.

JoHo World Supporter
JoHo is an (inter-)national non profit organization with the goal to set up as many support centers as possible, dealing with work, travel and international cooperation. The main focuses of the organization are passing on knowledge, promoting international contacts and awareness and giving advice.

Wanawa Foundation
Wanawa is an organisation that assists locally based organizations in Kenya to empower women and children. They assist by finding volunteers, cultural exchange students and interns that fit with the needs in Kenya and they assist with financial and material needs of the projects in Kenya. The organization has a unique way of helping projects to survive on its own.

JoHo Insurances

1.2. For whom is the Kenya support center?
The Kenya xperience center is for international global citizens, for Kenyan global citizens and for communities in Kenya.
For international global citizens
The Kenya xperience center welcomes all kind of international global citizens that want share their skills and learn from Kenyans in return
- Global citizens who want to volunteer from a few weeks to a few months.
- Trainees, students, international cultural exchangers/vrijwilligers
- People who want to be involved, but don’t know how, yet
- People who want to start or support a project or companies that want to do cooperate social responsibility activities.
- Tourist who are passing by
What we can do?
For Kenyan global citizens
Kenyan volunteers, graduates and professionals are also invited to share their skills and experiences with the community
- Kenyan youth who are eager to support their communities
- Kenyan students or graduates who want to get working experience
- Professionals and companies who want to share their skills and experiences with the community and who want to mentor graduates in order to develop their professional skills.

For international global citizens such as cultural exchangers / vrijwilligers
- We promote that you share your skills and enthusiasm
- We recruit cultural exchangers, like you, give you information to help you make a decision and to prepare you for your skill sharing experience in a community project
- We will facilitate your process of skill sharing
- We will brief you on your project through this website, answering all your questions, briefing you in Kilifi and introduce you at your project.
- You will start you Kenyan experience with an introduction day to make you familiair with some cultural aspects and to tach you the first beginnings of Kiswahili
- We will provide assistance and advice if needed
- We will mediate when you need assistance
- We will evaluate your placement and appreciate your feedback
- We aim to promote understanding and shared learning between you and other global and/or Kenyan citizens
- We aim to facilitate access to Internet facilities such as Worldstudybank, Nabuur, Wikipedia, Facebooks, news sites etc in the Kilifi office
- We create opportunities for you to meet international cultural exchangers and other visitors
- We organize discussion meetings between you, international cultural exchangers and professionals as well as informal meetings, weekend trips and cultural excursions
